I just watched a trailer for a documentary that I’m really excited to see. Not only are some of my favorite male celebrities and comedians in it, but the subject matter lends itself to hilarity: Male Grooming.
If you took the time to watch that, you are probably still chuckling. If you didn’t, you missed Will Arnett and Jason Bateman in a bubble bath with beauty masks on their face discussing manliness, Zach Galifianakis talking about his beard and a woman being grossed out by: “Back, Crack & Sack” (a male waxing term).
The film is directed by Morgan Spurlock of Super Size Me fame. He describes his decision to wear a handle bar mustache as “embracing his inner porn star”.
The Buff Culture™ wave is often dominated with products and services that cater to the fairer sex. This wave’s Human Truth™ is: “If I look good, I am good.”™ There’s no denying that women are the main target of the beauty industry. However, we’ve been watching “manscaping” emerge over the last few years, and there are plenty of procedures or products that are becoming mainstream now.
There will always be the guys who wash their hair with a old bar of soap and spray on some axe before heading out to do something manly like fix a muscle car. However, I’m pretty sure a few guys that watch Mansome will change their minds when they see a very good looking woman being interviewed gush: “I LOOOVE a man that uses product”
