McDonald's Corp, the world's biggest fast-food chain, is offering home delivery in Shanghai, in order to build a model in China to boost sales and help it catch up with rival, Yum! Brands, in the world's most populous country. In this Pop up Lifestyle move, McDonald's has built up a fleet of 300 motorcycles over the past five months to deliver burgers from 42 restaurants in Shanghai. That's covering half of the city's 14 million person population. McDonald's is boosting its expansion in China, where rival Yum operates twice as many restaurants and started their home delivery several years ago to enhance the dining experience at its more than 2,000 KFC and Pizza Hut outlets across the country. If there is so much fast food delivery, isn't the obesity epidemic about to pop up over there too?
