It's auto show time, and that means it's time for the H word to start rolling around again. This time the word hybrid is being pushed out to GM's trucks. Last year we heard about the Silverado's ability to act as a worksite generator, and this one is supposed to do what all H word vehicles do, improve fuel economy. It's powered by the same engine as the Escalade, Tahoe and Yukon hybrids and GM claims the truck will have a 40% increase in city fuel compared to it's non-hybrid counterpart. It can run in electric mode up to 30 mph, even in tow. It's one more step of a company going green, hopefully they'll be able to do what Volkswagon is and go hyrid with all vehicle types, or perhaps one better and make hybrid a standard. It's one step closer to having no option but going green.
