Tweeting FTW

I love it when businesses “give good twitter”. Whether it’s a PR person, a social media consultant or an employee that is given the freedom to tweet whatever they like, when it’s done well it really personalizes a product, brand or service. Never before has a tool like this given a public “voice” to businesses that can reach and engage so directly with consumers. That’s why I get a kick out of an artful twitter interaction.

For instance check out this exchange between Smart Car USA and Clayton Hove, the creative director of ad agency KK Bold, who tweeted a joke about seeing a Smart Car get totaled by a bird pooping on it. Well, someone at Smart Car saw this as an opportunity for some fun and responded with an infographic of exactly how much bird poop would be needed to damage their tridion safety cell.

BOOM.

This funny exchange not only made me chuckle but now I think that Smart Car is pretty cool. I even checked out their convertible model because it caught my eye on their twitter page.

The Virtual Forest™ wave often features a lot of web culture. The Human Truth™ of this wave is: “I live my life plugged in; there is no logging off.”™ That rings true for many people these days but especially twitter addicts. All though stats on twitter usage are miniscule compared to say, Facebook… The fact remains that good (or bad) twitter exchanges go viral and get a much wider audience talking.
