When I was a kid I loved those “choose your own adventure” books. You know the ones: Turn to page 8 if you think Bobby should get on the boat with the pirate. Don’t trust him? Turn to page 12.

Have you ever felt that way when watching a movie? In my case, ALL THE TIME! Don’t go up the stairs!!! go out the back door and call the police at the neighbors house you stupid girl!! He’s coming!!

And don’t get me started about the way some films end! What the heck was up with the end of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo? Different (worse) than the book AND the Swedish versions!!

Well, now I’ve got that off my chest, check out this amazing new technology that is emerging now:

“With a specialized headset and software, UK-based MyndPlay now lets users determine movies’ outcomes themselves using just the power of their thoughts. Billed as “the world’s first mind-controlled media player and platform,” MyndPlay uses a specially designed EEG headset from partner NeuroSky to measure the wearer’s brainwave signals and monitor his or her attention and relaxation levels. A free software download for Mac or Windows, meanwhile, receives that data and controls the technology. With those two pieces together, users can watch and interact with a variety of specially crafted movies, games and even emotional therapy sessions for mental wellbeing. Currently listed in the “thriller/horror” section of the MyndPlay App Store, for instance, is “Paranormal Mynd: Exorcism,” the first in a series of such films with three alternate endings and plot lines that change depending on the thoughts and emotions of the viewer.

The trailer for that movie can be seen here.

These NeuroSky MindWave headsets go for around USD $160, while movies and other apps range in price from free to about USD $5.50 for emotional therapy sessions. Kits are also available for researchers. On top of all that, MyndPlay will soon be launching MyndPlay Pro, which will let keen gamers and armchair developers create their own interactive content and share it online. There are plans for multiplayer online games and other movies in the future.

Deity Complex™ is about control. The Human Truth™ is: “It’s my world, my way.”™ I’m sure app-savvy entrepreneurs in all sort of fields will be able to think of ways this tech can be implemented in their realm of expertise. I’m on board with this kind of “MYND Control”.
