This past weekend, Japan held it’s second annual Ecovillage Conference; combine this with the Chicago Urban Ecovillage gathering and you’ve got to realize that Ecovillages aren’t just for hippies anymore. It’s actually evolved into a cross-cultural term that describes people with a common vision of building a sustainable future. They are also described as “living laboratories” and can be searched through Global Ecovillage Network (GEN). I think it’s important to note these events, for each one that happens brings more awareness to it and more people see the pull to just go green. With the mass amounts of green washing and green murder,  it’s good to see people trying to truly represent what green needs to be.
